As a music publisher, Simone Molinaro was an innovator at the vanguard of printing and is known for publishing the madrigals of Gesualdo in full score, thereby helping secure Gesualdo’s position in the canon. Molinaro’s compositions are not as well known. But now, in a similar way that Glenn Gould made Bach's harpsichord music his own on a modern instrument, James Limerick Kerr, a fingerstyle and classical guitarist, Dobro guitarist, and educator, has arranged Molinaro’s lute fantasias for steel stringed guitar, to invite a new generation of guitarists to perform the music of Simone Molinaro.
